Rackspace Partner Marketing Manager - Google in San Antonio, Texas

Overview & Responsibilities

Rackspace is seeking and talented, energetic and proactive marketing manager for Google

Cloud to manage critical marketing timelines and deliverables including campaigns, budgets, lead routing, sales enablement, events and communications. The role is based in San Antonio or Austin, Texas.

This candidate will report directly to the head of marketing for Rackspace’s Google business and help manage everything from sponsored events and VIP experiences to coordinating MDF spend to planning events and preparing status reports. Strong organizational skills are a must. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, yet willing to tackle complex initiatives in the face of ambiguity or limited direction. Resourcefulness and a penchant for “getting things done” are key.

Responsible for:

  • Executing a cadence of updates of our new offerings, wins and capabilities

  • Coordinating and implementing marketing communication projects

  • Coordinating the flow of leads between the partner and Rackspace. Planning and executing tactical field activities that builds relationships with Google field and Rackspace field teams (West, East, Central)

  • Managing timelines for the creation and execution of marketing content and campaigns including blogs, press releases, events, advertising, videos, etc.

  • Helping plan and organize special events and sponsorships including summits, workshops, webinars, and trainings

  • Executing a cadence of virtual and live interactions with Google sellers so they understand the Rackspace value proposition, offer updates, and sales process

  • Scheduling and organizing the creation of website content and updates

  • Maintaining up-to-date versioning and supplies of marketing materials and content across various platforms

  • Arranging logistics and presentations for sales teams, customers and partners

  • Preparing status reports on marketing efforts by communicating with appropriate sales and marketing managers

  • Liaising with Google employees, internal team members, corporate marketing teams, advertising agencies, vendors and other Rackspace departments (e.g. sales, operations, legal) as needed

  • Setting up tracking systems and campaign codes for marketing activities

  • Collaborating with the creative teams to produce promotional materials

  • Collaborating with the field marketing, segment and partner teams to plan and execute campaigns

  • Updating and maintaining accurate opportunity details and campaign performance in Google’s partner portal


  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strongly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications

  • Proven work experience as a Marketing Coordinator, Project Manager or similar role

  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools

  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Willingness to travel (10-15%)

  • Excellent selling and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to proactively generate leads, work under a quota, and effectively maintain/expand business relationships through e-mail, phone, and face-to-face contact

  • Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand

  • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups

  • Must be well organized and attentive to details

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously prioritizing work to meet competing deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or Advertising

  • 5-7 years of marketing, advertising or program management experience
